Bigg Boss 6.jpg

Bigg Boss is a reality TV programme broadcast in India. It follows the Big Brother format, which was first developed by Endemol in the Netherlands.

Bigg Boss is a reality show based on the original Dutch Big Brother format developed by John de Mol. A number of contestants (known as "housemates") live in a purpose-built house and are isolated from the rest of the world. Each week, housemates nominate two of their peers for eviction, and the housemates who receives the most nominations would face a public vote. Of these, one would eventually leave, having been "evicted" from the House. However, there were exceptions to this process as dictated by Bigg Boss. In the final week, there were three housemates remaining, and the public voted for who they wanted to win. The housemates in the Indian version are primarily celebrities with the exception of one who is a non-celebrity selected via auditions. Housemates are overseen by a mysterious person known as 'Bigg Boss', whose only presence in the house is through his voice.

The house

A Bigg Boss House is built for every season. The house was earlier located in the tourist place of Lonavala, Pune district of Maharashtra, however the house for the fifth season is located in Karjat. The house is well-furnished and decorated. It has all kinds of modern amenities, but just one or two bedrooms and four toilet bath rooms. There is a garden, pool, activity area and gym in the House. There is also a Confession Room, where the housemates may be called in by Bigg Boss for any kind of conversation, and for the nomination process.
The House has no TV connection, no phones, no Internet connection, clocks, pen or paper.

Rules

While all the rules have never been told to the audience, the most prominent ones are clearly seen. The inmates are not permitted to talk in any other language than Hindi. They are not supposed to tamper with any of the electronic equipment or any other thing in the House. They cannot leave the House premises at any time except when permitted to. They cannot discuss the nomination process with anyone. They cannot sleep in day time.
Sometimes, the housemates may be nominated for other reasons, such as nomination by a person who has achieved special privileges (via tasks or other things), for breaking rules or something else. If something is very serious, a contestant may be evicted directly.

Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachaoo

Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao is the Indian version of the popular British reality game show I'm a Celebrity…Get Me out of Here!. The show premiered on July 13, 2009 at 10 PM on Sony Entertainment Television (India), replacing another reality talent show Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega whose first season ended the previous week.

The show is licensed from ITV's Format, I'm a Celebrity…Get Me out of Here!. The basic concept is the same, where a group of celebrities have to survive in a jungle camp without any amenities, and must compete with each other to stay on in the show.
Every contestant gets a handful of rice and some soyabean/lentils for food every three days, which is clearly not enough for survival. Therefore, they must participate in various physically challenging contests and win "food credits" for themselves and their team members. Each day, the team must nominate one participant to play in the day's contest and be the bread-winner for that day.
At the end of every week, the contestant with the least number of public votes and the contestant with the most number of elimination nominations from the participants face off in an elimination task called the "Maha Jungle Challenge". The winner of this challenge gets to stay back while the loser is eliminated from the game.
The audience can vote for their favorite participants via phone calls or SMS...

Mona Wasu won the show's first season.

Sach ka Samna

Sacch Ka Saamna (Hindi: सच का सामना, "Facing the Truth") is the Indian version of the popular American reality show The Moment of Truth, which itself is adapted from the Colombian reality game show Nada más que la verdad. The 1st season premiered on STAR Plus on July 15, 2009 and aired at 11PM IST from Monday through Friday. The 2nd season of the series premiered on December 18, 2011 on STAR TV's new channel Life OK. Both seasons were hosted by Rajeev Khandelwal.

The show is based on the same format as The Moment of Truth. The format is owned by Howard Schultz of Lighthearted Entertainment.
Prior to appearing on the actual show, contestants are asked 50 questions while being hooked up to a polygraph machine. The biological indicators of the contestant, such as pulse rate, blood pressure, etc. are measured and used by the polygraph to decide whether the answer is true or not. The contestant is not aware of the results of the polygraph for his or her answers.
During the actual show, the contestant is asked 21 of the same questions again. If the contestant answers honestly, he or she moves on to the next question; however, should a contestant lie in his or her answer, or simply refuse to answer a question after it has been asked, the game ends and the contestant loses all their prize money.
There are six levels of prize money in the game. The first level consists of six questions, and answering all of them truthfully will win the contestant Rs. 1,00,000 of prize money. The next level has five questions and the prize money goes up to Rs. 5,00,000. The third, fourth and fifth levels consist of four, three and two questions respectively, with the prize money being Rs. 10,00,000, Rs. 25,00,000 and Rs. 50,00,000 respectively. The final level has only one question, with the truthful answer fetching the maximum prize money of Rs. 1,00,00,000.
The questions become increasingly personal and potentially embarrassing in nature as the stakes get higher. The contestants are usually accompanied by close family members or friends, who are seated beside them and the host. Several of the questions tend to be related to the relationship between them and their acquaintances present there. Next to the guests is a buzzer, which they can use to override a question which they feel is better left unanswered. In that case, the contestant will be asked an alternate question which may be easier or tougher than the question it replaced. The buzzer can only be used once during the game.
The series requires contestants to sign an agreement that they will accept the conclusions drawn by the polygraph examiner. The polygraph test is done by Herb Irvine, a US-based polygraph expert.
